I am looking for a different venue for my home insurance.  
 
Any recommendations?

Wawanesa . Tell them about all updates, repairs etc and. Make sure they have a detailed list of all your sewer back up valves, water shut off valves ,hot water tank, furnace including ages and serial numbers. Updating that information with them last year resulted in them sending me a cheque for $400 in savings for the same coverage.

If you go to a broker like Dick Agencies they can shop around and compare apples to apples. They've had me mostly with Wawanesa over the years.

I recommend either Guild Insurance /  
(Specifically the Victoria ave location) or Phillips Agency on 1st & Victoria.

I think that because you get savings, and people shop around for the best prices ect is all good, but what it really comes down to is how they “actually” cover you when you need it. Do they rip you off? Do they try and screw you to save them selves some money? And how much of a run around is it when you need it. I know they have to cover themselves from scammers to, but some of these guys are literal crooks. So if I was looking for information before I worried about saving a few dollars I would look for people that actually had to deal with the claim part of things. It’s all good to save a few bucks, but if they screw you when you need it, then was it really worth it?

When I lost a new tractor and a round baler Wawanesa covered us pretty good after I “negotiated “ the values with them.
