#1 Ask your friends, Brandon is a small town and reputations spread fast.  
 
#2 Does he ask for money up front? This is an absoulte no-no as it tells you he might not be able to afford to finish the job.  
 
#3 Is he a certified journyperson. This is very easy to find out as all of them have a card in their wallet, and most will be happy to show you.  
 
#4 Does he tell you he can do it cheaper for cash? Never, because then there is no record of any work being started or completed.  
 
#5 get a permit. Someone from the city will show up to make sure he is not cutting corners.  
 
#6 And the most important rule "CYA", cover your ass! Because you never know what some people will try.  
 
I hope this can help some people because I am a contractor, and I am tired of good people getting bent over. I can't stress enough get a CERTIFIED journyperson to complete your work. I know a little about the human heart, left ventricle, aorta, would you want me to do open heart surgery on you?? I could probably wing it, thats what these people are saying!!
