I don't know if this is the right 'forum' for this question or not. There are a gazillion (well, maybe only hundreds or close to a thousand) flies in our house. They seem to congregate in the windows, and are really freaking me out. They are dark colored with striped wings, about the size of a regular house fly or maybe a bit smaller.  
Any ideas as to why there are so many? And what I can do to get rid of them?
