Help! Water in the basement
3/2/2016 at 6:55 PM
I first discovered water in my basement last friday, and am having trouble finding out the source of my troubles.
- the water pools in about 3-4 low lying areas in the basement. The pools are not near the exterior walls. It seems to seep up like "slab sweat" through the foundation, and not where the pad meets the side walls
- my house is a bi-level, so only 4 feet underground.
- I have a sump pit, which is bone dry.
- Eavestroughs / downspouts are good, with sufficient grading away from the house.
- I am not in an area known for high water table.
- It has occured while ive been away at work, and not when I run the dishwasher, showers, washing machine, etc.
- I had thought it may be just thaw during warm weather, but also happened today.
I am seeking any advice on who I can call, how I can deal with it, what I can do. I have removed everything out of the affected area and continue to monitor and wet vac up the seepage as it shows. Please help!
