I am needing to paint my kitchen/living room/dining room. Not sure what colour to use. (It's open concept so all will be the same colour) I'm thinking a really light taupe. I don't want vibrant colours, looking for neutral. Thought? (I've posted a photo of my kitchen area, and I'll post also a photo of the colour I'm thinking ) thanks for all input

I'm thinking that taupe or maybe a light grey?.... I don't know, not very good with this lol

Google Revere Pewter - Benjamin Moore. This is one of their most popular colours, I have seen it in 2 homes and you would never know its the same paint colour because it will take on grey or beige depending on your decor.  
 
I also went with an off white colour in my kitchen because it is open concept and carries down my stairs into my basement. I have an accent wall of a grey colour where it made sense near my laundry room. By made sense I mean its a small, easy to access wall that I can change the colour of when I change my mind!

We also have the honey oak cabinets and trim and also hardwood floor. We went with a taupe colour and years later I still love it. I had started painting it a medium grey colour and hated it as it seemed to clash with the wood colour so I painted over it. I would for sure stick with something light. Our colour scheme has dark brown, gold, and different blue accents but with taupe you can really do anything!

I love Benjamin Moore 1550 Cumulus Cloud! It is a light grey paint colour with beige undertones. We have honey coloured cabinets and flooring as well and I'm really happy with it!

Revere pewter, have it in many rooms of my home. goes with everything! It is warm not cold and stale.

This is a nice warm neutral colour. I tried Revere Pewter and found it cold icy looking on my walls.

If you type "paint colours with golden oak" you will get several palettes of creamier neutrals! I have revere pewter in 2 of my bedrooms and while I like the colour, it really doesn't do much for my oak trim. If I had known about Pinterest back then I would have chosen differently!

That should read "honey oak" not golden, in the Pinterest search bar.

Edgecomb Gray, it is on the same card as Revere Pewter.

I was in the same mindset looking for colors for my new home. I chose for the main color CIL Heron Grey it's a nice calming taupe with grey undertones. And just because it's open concept doesn't mean you can't add a second color as long as it's in the same color tone category it's fine..Mine on a feature wall is called Grey Tweed which is a bit darker but with the lighter one it looks amazing and blends well. Purchased at home depot in an eggshell finish. Satin is also fine. Don't ever be scared of color, remember it's only paint and if you don't like it's easy enough and cheap enough to change.

I went to the Deluxe store (one by superstore). They were AWESOME! Will totally go back next time I need paint...highly recommend them! Anyways, I went with the "revere pewter" colour, since it's a Benjamin Moore colour the lady and I matched it as best we could. Went home, painted my living room and dining room so far . It looks FANTASTIC! I surprised my husband as he didn't know I was going to paint lol and when he came home from work he was very impressed! So thankyou all who responded and gave wonderful suggestions! Feels good to sit in the Living room! Gotta love fresh paint! this is one happy lady!

Yes finding a colour is hard! Ours is all open concept and we have our kitchen a different colour than the living/dining room! We have lots of compliments on our inside and colours! Rich colours I picked and husband painted!!! Everybody has their own taste mind you!! Also our house is very big ! The colours work very well!!

Check out Evening Gown- Benjamin Moore. Painted it in my daughter’s room. Loved it so much I am considering painting it in the rest of the house.
