Where is the best place to order a quality play structure package that you put together yourself? Or is it cheaper to find plans online and buy the lumber and parts yourself?  
 
I’ve heard of some stores doing a pre-order in the winter so you get a discount but have yet to hear if this is true.  
 
Looking for something of a significant size, good quality and maybe the possibility of adding on parts as my kids grow.

If you're handy, I personally would suggest building your own. I found that I was able to order better quality parts and build a much stronger unit for less money. I ordered all of the parts online from Home Depot.

I’m as thrifty as they come but wouldn’t trust myself enough to make the right measurements, cuts and fastens to do it right. Ended up doing a lot of research into the company that makes the “Big Backyard” ones that a lot of the stores carry. They have a ton of different models but unfortunately only a few of the best sellers were avail locally when we were looking. They give good info on their website as far as demensions and we ended up hand picking one particular model that fits our weird shaped backyard the best. That model wasn’t in Brandon and so we bought from Toys R Us in Winnipeg and paid Gardewine to bring it out. The sale was good enough that even after paying to have it trucked here it was a great deal.  
 
Assembly too a couple days of careful work but we got it done and it’s been great. Their support is first class. Had an issue with one part and they sent it out at their expense without much interrogation at all.  
 
Other option would be to watch the classifieds where they do come up at usually decent prices if you or someone you know has the ability to help move one.

Thanks I will check out toys r us, never thought of them as an option. My husband is an engineer so I think he can figure out how to build one but buying from a box does sound easier. We will keep researching.

I used to be a dealer for a play structure company from Ohio they have very High quality stuff. i still have some attachments and pieces in inventory message me if you are interested

are not easy to assemble, some take an entire weekend to erect. i found one on e-brandon that i had to go pick up and partially disassemble and re assemble at home but wayyyyy cheaper than going brand new

I’ve had a ton of family and friends get Costco ones. Not super cheap but actually better quality than what they were expecting. But not sure you can get a play structure for super cheap unless it’s second hand anyways.

I ordered through Costco and had great results. Good price, stable structure.

the cedar view mountain summit off of e-brandon for $300 and it retails for $1700 and I had to pick it up , reassemble parts of it and restain it. great quality and a great deal if you have the time to wait for the right one.
