Do you get gifts for your kids teachers and coaches?  
Any ideas you could share and how much do you spend?  
Any teachers out there that could let me know what you enjoy getting?

Teachers do not expect big or expensive gifts. I always valued a hand written note or hand made gift from a child, a book to add to my class collection, or some other item to use in the classroom (fancy pens/pencils, stickers, etc.).

Any gift is a bonus, but ideally something that is consumable. I'm thinking things like small gift cards, treats, school supplies, home-made goodies, etc. I have no room left for more coffee mugs! Haha  
 
I always love handmade cards though. Had a student who made me giant cards for Christmas, my birthday, and the end of the year both years she was in my class and I have all of them stacked in my spare room!

Well as a teacher I can tell you most of us (I'm sure there are a few who expect them) do not want anything. I will even admit I feel a little weird and awkward when parents try to give me a gift. I appreciate the gesture but I am just doing my job. I am compensated well for what I do... I enjoy it. That is why I do it after all. If you want to give something, a thank you is all that is needed. Or better yet make a donation to a charity of your choosing. Take your kid for ice cream. I am sorry but this giving everyone a gift/tip is getting out of hand. Maybe I am "old school" but keep your gifts.

I'm not a teacher, but I think it's getting out of hand as well. I honestly think it's a way for parents to brag on social media how awesome they are because of the gift they got their kids teacher.  
 
I usually do a Christmas or end of school year gift. I prefer the Christmas one because we make handmade glass ornaments that I feel are keepsakes. If I do end of the year I do a gift card
