Hi! I'm a mum to three, with my 4th on the way. I delivered my first almost 7yrs ago with the midwives in Brandon, and my other two in Alberta with a private midwife. I am now facing an OB delivery because the midwives are booked solid.  
 
I need some help sounding out the OB's in the city.  
 
I found that when I labored and delivered I HAD to be on my knees leaning forward on a rocking chair. My labors went fast and I was in control of my pain. If I had to roll over (which I did at one point with one of them for a heartbeat check) I COMPLETELY lost control and did not push as effectively.  
 
Did any of you deliver in a position other than on your back??? Also how open were they to NOT giving an episiotomy?? I birthed my others with no tears, (and one was 10.5lb with a large head) so I really don't want one unless necessary, kwim?  
 
Help! I'm not sure what kind of attitude I'll face when I state how I want to deliver and not how the doc wants me to!
