Drinking around your kids?
7/6/2009 at 10:07 AM
Reading the other parenting forum it seems to be threadjacked into a conversation about drinking around kids, so I thought I would start one..
I dont like this idea for several reasons, but lets ask everyone..
Do you think it is acceptable to drink around your kids? What age is ok? Should you be drinking even a couple of beers when you will be solely responsible for your young children? Is there a line that should not be crossed? Is that line always clear? Is their times that this is more acceptable than others?
I don't drink, at all, and I wouldn't around my kids if I did, I don't think a beer or two is worth the risk, although I more than sure there will be others that disagree, maybe again it comes down to parenting, we parent our own kids, and as long as we are responsible maybe it is ok? I just think when alcohol is involved it is that much harder to make the judgment calls on what is responsible and what is not. Again I say it is a hard enough job to do right when sober imo..
