Toddler not eating
11/12/2010 at 8:49 AM
I have a 17 month old baby boy who has been a relatively normal eater up until now. A week ago he came down with a cold and since then has not been eating well at all. Normally, for breakfast he would have a small bowl (just a handful or so) of cheerios with milk and a 3rd of banana or some slices of pear.
This morning when I tried feeding him he refused everything, just ate a few dry cheerios and a few raisins and then wanted down. It has been this way with every meal since he came down with this cold.
He has had other colds which have affected his appetite, but has not stopped eating to such a degree as this time. I don't ever remember his brother doing this at his age either.
Is this something that other parents have also dealt with? How long or in what situation should I be concerned? Are there any suggestions of "cold friendly" food that perhaps I can entice him with?
Thanks in advance.
