I have always wanted to be a surrogate mother. At this age in my life it is now likely not a good idea however i am still fascinated with the idea of it. Giving a gift of life. It blows my mind.  
I would never have been able to use my own eggs as i know i would bond with the unborn child beyond a point of handing them over but if the genetics belonged to other parents i would have be thrilled at the idea of sharing in such a precious journey and gift.

Love how you put that. I couldn't agree more. I have a beautiful little boy and often think about how some women unfortunately can't have babies. I would love to be a part of giving somebody the chance to be a mother

I think it would be a "fantastic" gift but like you I couldn't do it unless the egg belonged to someone else. I would look at it as if my uterus was an oven. I'm too old to surrogate but when I was younger it may have been something I might have considered for a member of my family or close friend.

I was a surrogate in the past to three babies (all traditional, aka my own eggs).... I know of an *amazing* couple in Winnipeg who are currently seriously considering if anyone is interested.

I would do it in a heartbeat. Offered to help my brother and wife out, but after 10 yrs they had their miracle. I would help out a stranger if I was asked.

no matter whose eggs I would grow to love it before it was born and not want to part with it.

My friend was a surrogate to a baby and is currently pregnant with another. She really just looks at the child as their baby from day one. She always refers to the baby as "their baby" and the parents are at every ultrasound and doctors appointment.  
 
It is an amazing, selfless thing to do, however you need to have the right frame of mind and heart before getting into it.

I actually just registered to become a surrogate with Surrogacy Canada Online. I'm registered to become a gestational surrogate, so I will not be using my eggs, and I'm hoping to make a match soon!

Do you know if this is done through the Winnipeg clinic heartland fertility? Or how does it work? Obviously the couple would have to do ivf but not transfer. What are reasons why someone would use a surrogate?

My daughter in law was a surrogate last year of twins for a gay couple. She had three fertiled eggs implanted so she could have easily had triplets. She is planning on helping another couple starting next month, she said its a most amazing feeling when you present parents that are unable to have children with their newborn(s)!

I'm just wondering I've been to the heartland clinic in wpg & from there we went through everything for the ivf and at the last minute or surrogate backed out due to personal problems. Does the surrogacy of Canada help others or does it have to be through family members only that one would have to use a surrogate? That's what I was told anyways....
