So I'm driving down Victoria Ave today and I notice a long line of cars following one of those electric scooter/moped bikes. There was no licence plate on the bike and the driver was wearing only a styrofoam bicycle helmet. Now...all I can think is...I pay HUGE bucks to have insurance on my Harley, I am required to wear a DOT rated helmet. These electric things have a headlight, turn signals and variable speeds (even though they top out at 12km/h) and are able to ride down the street so why don't they need to be insured also?
