Life is so pretty in the darkness,  
There is nothing to see, so it all looks clean.  
You keep on walking, ever deeper,  
Until the light can no longer be seen.  
 
You grab around looking for a stronghold,  
You stumble and trip, finding nothing but air  
You know you were walking in the right direction,  
The light was close, it was always there…  
 
You suddenly realize that you have fallen again  
It’s crazy, you didn’t see it coming,  
That always seems to be the way…  
You always head for the darkness running.  
 
Things always look so terrible in the light,  
Ever scar and imperfection for the world to see  
The darkness has always been appealing,  
That’s where nobody can see me.  
 
But when you reach the darkness, you always find a bitter end,  
And you realize you miss the light, time to start climbing again.
