Housing: Why not Take Advantage of Downtown Brandon?

Re: Brandon House Pricing
The prices of homes in any community (no matter where you are), are generally predicted by the buyers willing to buy and the demand at the time.
High demand? Higher prices.
Comparing this market to anywhere else is like comparing Apples to Oranges, as every community deals with different demands on their own needs.
If the City of Brandon still puts the brakes on future development for long term medium-density housing, then home prices will continue to climb.
We have a unique situation in our City. We need affordable housing developments for middle-class families, which will alleviate some of the pressure right now for single family dwellings. Why not the Core Area?
I just don't understand. We have new families to Brandon that can't find a place, yet we have a decaying downtown that looks like a skeleton prior to it's glory days as late as the 1970's.
I truly believe that the Downtown Core should be promoted for young families..rent or own. Win-win... promote and develop Downtown Brandon and alleviate the alternative housing crunch.
The changing face of Brandon is imminent, and something needs to be done.
Bring in local Developers to Downtown Brandon to revive it and ease the housing crunch as far as I'm concerned, but that is just my opinion.
