Country...mu... musi... I can't bring myself to say it.

I can appreciate pretty much any genre of music, classical, jazz, rock, metal, blues, & some rap, but when it comes to country, I just don't get it.
I put the radio on to the local country station to see if I could broaden my horizons so to speak. In the amount of time that I could actually stomach it, I was privileged to hear a Phil Collins remake, and about five bands best described as Nickelback in cowboy hats. The one song, "She's Country" & I have no idea who the musical genius was that was, for lack of a better term, singing it, nor do I care, had me frantically searching for something sharp to jab into my ear drums to ease the pain. It was the cheesiest form of bad rock & roll with the most adolescent, lame lyrics coming from a guy that decided to dawn a cowboy hat & call himself a country music artist for the sake of making money & nothing else.
What is the attraction? Is it the bad music, the bad lyrics, the tight jeans, or is it that people just do not care about the effort or lack there of that goes into today's so called country music.
Please tell me the attraction because all I hear is crap & fluff with no substance ...I don't get it.
