I thought I would start a thread to talk about ITunes in general. How many songs do you have? Is all your Album artwork up to date? What problems do you have with ITunes working properly? If I or anyone else can shed some light to help you out here who knows.  
 
I do not know about you but in this digital age we live in I have been using ITunes and adding to my library since ITunes began. Transfer all music from reel to reel, 8 track, cassette, LP, and cd's (for hard to find mp3). Sort it and getting all album artwork to match up. It is a great deal of work to keep it maintained but if you are like me I use my ITunes ALL the time.  
 
Here is what I do to keep ITunes running smoothly. I have around 8000 songs using 60+gigs. I alway keep the most up to date version of Itunes on my computer. If you add music and it does not come with the Album Artwork simply goto google - then click images - type the name of the album - find 400 x 400 or 500 x 500 image and click to the image - save on your computer - add image to ITunes library - fairly easy to do.  
 
Back up your ITunes on a regular basis to avoid losing everything.
