It says on the site that it's west of the 8th Street over pass? Anybody know how far West? Just asking because we are planning to walk with young toddlers and if it's too many blocks west we may just drive. Thanks!

Well this is unfortunate, been here for over 45 minutes and still no sign of train....

Hope nothing has happend along the way...

Think we will just call it a night, family is getting pretty cold, next year.

They had to stop for another train to pass..they are moving now..Should be 10-15 mins

Really disappointed

So incredibly disappointed that the train ended up being an hour and a half later then expected. I totally understand that things happen but to be that far behind, it was more than just letting a train by. There were plenty of young kids waiting for it in the cold for over an hour. My 3 year old ended up getting far too cold so we left before the train got there. Now I have an incredibly sad and disappointed little guy who doesn't understand why they just couldn't be a "little bit late instead of a lot late"

We waited an hour and a half as well and left very disappointed! Kinda takes away from the "holiday spirit"!

I was really looking forward to seeing The Odds, but after 90 minutes of waiting we left to get my son to bed.

I mean you couldn't post an update and let us know? They had to know...saw people standing there at 5:30...long time to be standing in the cold

We were antsy with the wait too, had made promises throughout the day and wanted to stick to them! But in the end i think all I'll remember was the free drinks, the quality of the show and the price I paid for it. Might've been a different story if we had the brutally cold temps of a couple years ago and had to choose between train or frostbite.

Fwiw I'm not sure what the facts are but what security was telling us was that the train had been in Brandon for a decent amount of time before it finally pulled up. Supposedly was not able to proceed right away because of how many people were right up close to and even on the tracks?

unfortunate that people had to wait longer for it. They were announcing on their Twitter (@CPHolidaytrain) the delays. They were late getting to Portage as well, which likely added to the later arrival here. And then having to wait for other train traffic.

we saw the train pull into brandon. we were at the underpass east of brandon the drove in, parked and saw the train pull up all in 20 minutes. we waited for over an hr out by douglas on a hill overlooking the tracks before that though.

went by me in Chater at 8pm. I then saw it going by 1st Street bridge at around 8:20 or so.

can only go as fast and as safe as allowed. could have had a mechanical problem or another train needed to get to a siding before they could proceed. there was an eastbound freight train waiting at douglas for the holiday train to get on the siding before it could proceed. by the time it got by and the holiday train could head west would take 10 to 15 minutes alone.

It was my first time seeing it and I wasn't disappointed, even though we stood outside for 3 hours and the tran was 1.5 hours late.

I know it's hard, especially with kids, but things like this are just expected to run late....or at least, I expect them to be. I knew we would be out longer than planned so we dressed for it. It was wonderfully warm tonight and I was just happy that it wasn't -30

Dallas Smith and The Odds put on a fun, FREE event and by the looks of it, lots of food was donated to the Samaritan House. Way to go Brandon!!

I was so glad my family stayed. What was very unfortunate was, the police officer had come and TOLD everyone to get four feet away, because the policy of CP Rail couldn't proceed for safety reasons, and nobody listened! I had to be the mean person and let two families aware that the train wouldn't in fact come if they didn't get off the tracks. The train has to wait a certain time frame after they see someone near the tracks...parents failed to parent their children, and abide by the rules. It was for their own safety, and time allowance for the train! People, the speech from the officer wasn't an option. Rant over

bad that people wouldn't listen to the CP Rail Police about getting off the tracks. I''m trying to look for the video that was made about the safety around the Holiday Train. At least I think it was a video. But they say to stay back 15 feet from the tracks when it about arrive.

Can't believe how many people weren't following the rules and not parenting their kids. The police should not have had to come clear the tracks. And it's -1. Not even that cold, it's Manitoba. Dress your kids for the weather.

that's why you need to stay back from the tracks. I know everyone is excited about the train, but you need to keep yourself and kids safe.
