I got my hair colour done today at a salon, I have- had blonde highlights so I figured, and asked if a dark, red/orange colour, Think Lindsay Lohan. Somthing natural looking, was possible, ( I even had pictures and specifics of what I wanted, and didnt want it to turn out like.. ) Hense, asking the "expert" for advice.. and told her I didnt want to do it if it wasnt going to turn out right. It ended up being RED-red, Does not look natural at all! SO tacky!! With their lighting in the Salon, it looked dark Brown with red hints in it.. Wasnt what I wanted.. But hairdressers never seem to get it right with me! ANYWAYS.. I left the salon dissapointed, but feeling safe because I've had dark hair before and it was going to be my back up if they couldnt make a red work.  
Now being home and looking at it in my own light, and Natural light, Its HORENDOUS! It looks tacky and RED-RED.  
SOO, Since I wasted my money on this dye job I cant go back to a salon, and am wondering about Box Dyes, I've used to use them all the time, but on my natural light brown hair I always went DARK brown.. As much as I dont want to go back to them, I think its my only option!  
My question is, is it possible, if I get a dark enough brown or black, will it cover up the red??
