Got a phone call this afternoon from somebody saying I qualified for a lower interest rate on my credit card . All I had to do was verify some information. First they asked if I wanted it applied to my Visa or Mastercard. ..I don't have a Visa so that's the one I picked. We then went through all the questions which I answered. He then said everything will be applied within days. So be careful and avoid the number 150-127-5501

We've been getting these robo-calls, and of course, we ignore them.

uses many phone numbers, lots of Brandon numbers too, private long distance sometimes shows up on the phone. We have even got a call at 6:10 in the morning!

The first giveaway is when they're calling from "Visa Mastercard"  
 
The second is when they think the bank would give me a credit card.

and the second he started into his s:cript I just kept interupting him? He got so angry and the call ended in a swearing match and they have not called since. I have probably blocked half the numbers in Manitoba, because everytime they spoof an Area code 204 number I blocked in on my landline. Often thought about cancelling the landline and saving some money. Nobody useful calls a landline anymore.

I have always thought that the best way to stop the unwanted calls would be for the 'phone companies to allow you to input the numbers from which you will accept calls.  
This could be updated either through the handset or by computer via your account.  
Like most folks we do not answer calls that do not display a name that we recognise or do not show a name. The answerphone kicks in and if it someone we know then we pick up.
