Hello,  
I have some older, collectible coin sets I'd like to sell. The pawn shops aren't interested. I have found GateWest coins in Winnipeg but, would rather not spend the day driving if i don't need to,  
I'd love to sell them locally if possible. The coins are valued at approximately $3000

On the internet it might say they are worth 3000. But they are old and there is little to market for old coins. I have some old coins too I got from my grampa. I inquired about selling them. They still sit in a shoe box under my bed collecting dust.

As Orion's-belt said "there is little to market" for them, they're too old. New coins are worth money, a loonie is worth a dollar for example. I will give you $30 for them.

Last time I was there he was not taking coins or jewelry, since Money Mart moved into town.

Has nothing to do with PMP closing. Money mart has been here for years also. But to the Op, Winnipeg is definitely your best bet.

I did not say they had anything to do with People closing. I said People's was closing as their facebook page said.  
 
Then I said he was not taking coins and jewelry anymore anyway since Money Mart moved to town, the last time I was in. (which was a long time ago)

Throwing a few ads on Facebook buy and sell or even an EBrandon ad?  
 
Doing that will allow collectors to make you offers, and you can take the best offer.  
 
There IS a market for old coin, but dealers need to make money, too, and a company like Winnipeg Gold Buyers or a coin shop will pay far less than what the collector market will pay, sometimes up to 80% less. The collector market will pay 25-50% of book value. Trust me, I'm a collectibles dealer so I can say this with first hand confidence.
