Looking for a place to donate items

I am doing a major clean up and purge at my home and looking for a place to donate the items that may be of use to others. Are there any thrift stores that are open to drop off or has anyone seen any donation bins with room in them? Any of the bins I’ve seen around Brandon have been full.
I really don’t want to store everything until the stores are open again.

had 2 bins from the Adult and Teen Challenge. Don't know if they were full or not as my line outside the store was moving quite quickly.

Donating now is a bad idea. Set it aside for now.

What if you’ve done a huge purge like the OP. I’m kinda in the same boat I got 4 big home depo boxes with all sorts of house hold good. Not just clothes. Don’t wanna just throw it away. Wanna donate it. But it’s getting to a point where it’s taking up space in my entry way now and it’s getting kinda annoying.

But if left untouched, sitting outside the virus will die out. It can only live on surfaces for a couple days. I don’t see why people can’t donate.

Most of the organizations that collect donations are deemed non-essential and are closed right now, so no one to process your donations (and everyone else who is house cleaning!). I've read a few articles and seen photos online of stacks of donations outside of bins, which the city is hauling to the dump. In order to avoid yours going to the landfill, try and fin space to store it until this is over.

The bins are closed. Ppl that are leaving stuff on the ground made as well throw it in the garbage. They will not be picked up at this point.

You had room in your house for your junk before you purged, it won't kill you if it stays there for a couple more months.

Please people.. do not donate any type of household goods! The items that are left by the bin are going straight to the garbage.

All non essential companies are closed. Not essential, so nobody to pick it up. Nobody to pick it up, means overflowing bins. That is why people can't donate.

that people do NOT donate anything at this time. Many of the bins are taped off and organizations have sent out messages to please not leave items there. I am in the same boat (I WAS planning for a garage sale that likely won't happen this year) but I would rather that my donations get to someone as opposed to have it thrown away in the dump. I will just trip over it for a while.

I know it's not an ideal time to donate, and perhaps they have been aided fully at this point, but a local military family, the Venns, lost everything to a house fire just over a week ago. I believe the base has provided them with temporary housing, so perhaps they can make use of some of your discarded treasures to help them get back on their feet.
