Where exactly do our tax dollars go to in this city.

Feel free to go on the city website and read the budget.

Water main to your home, safe treated drinking water, sewer pipes and treatment of household waster before reintroducing to water supply, street lights, streets plowed, roads maintained, potholes filled, fire and emt services, community centres (rinks, halls) baseball diamonds, soccer fields, traffic lights, stop signs, speed limits, a police department, by-law enforcement, skating oval, a transit system, parks, walking trails, bike lanes, garbage and recycling pickup/services…. These are a few, just off the top of my head. Most people don’t mind paying taxes, they just like to see where the money is going. The above list looks pretty good for the money.

Perhaps more money needs to be spent on the city's IT department.

The City of Brandon is releasing the 2024 proposed municipal budget. Brandon City Council will deliberate the 2024 proposed budget as prepared on Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3, 2024.  
 
All proposed budget documents can be viewed on the City of Brandon website at: https://www.brandon.ca/budget/proposed-2024-budget  
 
City Council welcomes comments or feedback on the proposed 2024 budget, which can be sent via email to budget@brandon.ca.  
 
Deliberations will be held in the City of Brandon Council Chamber on the 2nd floor of Brandon City Hall and are open to the public and media to observe.
