In 2005 our houses flooded really bad, the next day when we went to rent a pump they were all gone. We looked and called everywhere in town. My dad was hauling two 5 gallon buckets of water out of our basement at a time accross the yard and out to the street. A lesson in futility since there was over 2 feet of water in our basement. A man pulled up in a truck and said that he had a pump and asked if we needed any help. He stayed all day and pumped water out of our basement. Then drove off to help someone else. Having never known us and refusing a reward...
