Interesting New City Planning Methods..

"Build it and they will come"
Basically in Korea they are developing an entire city(65K will reside, 300K work) from the ground up, and THEN having people move in. Its an amazing concept, its very high tech, very green, and obviously much easier to plan proper green space, traffic flow etc, when you start from scratch.
The few articles I've read basically said it won't work in NA because of how linked people are(your key card opens your house, tracks the bottles you've thrown into a recycle bin, etc), but I think its pretty cool. A lot of the leading companies in the world are part of this prototype.

Granted, the price tag is high, but this would be an interesting concept to see done in Canada. I know people will balk at the linking, but what about the Government and Private sector teaming up to basically build a city. Even in Brandon(or just outside) but on a smaller scale. Build a community of condos and houses, with everything within walking distance(Groceries, Multiuse facilities etc). The project in Songdo, everything for the most part is LEED Silver(at a minimum) certified.
This would be a way to alleviate housing shortages, create sustainable, community oriented developments.
