Funeral procession - stop or not stop

I just met a funeral procession on Victoria Avenue and my first instinct was to stop as I remember we used to stop driving to show respect, But no one else was stopping - sooo, are we supposed to stop when meeting a funeral procession or is this a sign of the past?
