When we hear of a family losing their home to fire or when any type of natural disaster occurs to any particular family, we hear a lot about the good deeds of people joining together to help. I really admire the humanitarian efforts put forth.
My story is a different, but generally almost the same story line, where a family is going to suffer a great loss.
My son's wife is dying and she's not expected to last more than two weeks or possibly even less than two weeks. My son has not been able to work full time as he has been taking care of his wife during this time, so they are not well off financially.
Last week in this very hot humid weather she had been hospitalized, but she really wanted to go home, so they let her come home Thursday. She has two registered nurses come twice a day to check on her. They live in a one small bedroom apartment. The bedroom window where she is laying beside had no screen on the window, so my son borrowed some screening and a hammer to put some screen on that window. Before that he said he was kept bust just keeping the flies away.
What I'm trying to say is that if anyone has an extra air conditioner they are not using would they consider donating it to this family. If only to allow some dignity and concern for the woman dying. Any help would make a tremendous difference and enable this lady to pass in comfort. As next week again we are to get into very high temperatures once more.
