I had intended to follow up after a couple weeks and it’s been about that long.
For me just because my job is to run this site, my main interest personally is in finding stories that complement discussions that are taking place on eBrandon and even the community at large. Whether those stories are via the Sun, Journal, CKLQ/Star, Bob/Farm, CBC, CTV, Discover Westman, MyWestman or this new one we’re all better for having more sources writing about Westman. It might not necessarily be any given outlet’s primary goal to support discussion on eBrandon specifically, but its what I’ve been self-trained to look for in my 11+ years of doing this job. I’m still not seeing a ton from the perspective of contributing stuff that could complement discussion but its good to see a number of the columnists keeping things up and writing stuff that might be of interest to folks depending on their interests. For those following the election closely that are looking for another perspective it does look like there are a few recent pieces that might be of interest.
Regarding the above couple posts, I did learn about the same thing earlier today. After mulling it over earlier I decided to leave it alone, but it looks like it’s been brought up. If you plug the noted photos into a Google reverse image search they look to track back to a person who offers the service of adding your logo onto an office stock photo.

While it certainly and understandably doesn’t look great on the surface when combined with the "new office furniture arrived" comment, it’s also possible that it was a self deprecating gag of some sort (sincerely hope the latter). I’ve tried to get comment that would clarify but haven’t had a lot of luck.
In the end in the big picture its my opinion that its about the service that you offer and the content that you put out. Just about everything else is just noise. This new site has potential to nicely complement the local information landscape as it evolves over time and learns the ropes and I will continue to check in from time to time.
