"Why didn't you stop the fight" was asked...maybe because he/she didn't want to get the crap kicked out of him/her. I'd sooner mention it to a bouncer, it's their job to get their hands dirty.

Very sad. That type of behaviour should never be tolerated.  
They should have been held there until police arrived and charges laid!  
Further to that never be allowed back at the bar.  
Hopefully she did report the incident and those men be located and brought to justice.  

I was upstairs, I weigh 90 pounds soaking wet and there were a ton of people downstairs. Plus I'm not a bouncer. Not sure how myself alone could have saved her?

Sorry I didn't mean to imply that you could or should have intervened. Defiantly was the bouncers job to keep people from acting this way.( If things get that out of hand it is their job to get the job done.) as well to call police.

I know it's not gentlemanly to hit a woman, but for her to be in this situation, I'm guessing she wasn't be too "ladylike" herself. I know sometimes a man needs a good beating to smarten them up, and I also know some women who do too. Not all women are saints. Who knows what she did before this happened, maybe she wanted to fight them both? I have seen women want to fight anybody, regardless of size, and sometimes win! I would never hit a woman myself, just stirring the pot a little.....

Easy to say when we weren't there but I'm almost positive I'd have stepped in. All it takes is one person and than others step in to help. At the very least, tell a bouncer and get their attention!  
 
Hope this woman is okay!!

Seems no one goes anywhere without their cell phone these days - why not call 911?  
And what kind of friends did she have if they didn't step in?

not sure yet of all details,this young lady is my niece and her jaw is badly broken, since the bouncers are too afraid to intervene , I hope that the tapes are reviewed by police and something is done by BPS. What I want to say next would only have this ad deleted, but I am sure most men know what it is, so hopefully police get involved,[this young lady has a lot of family )

Looks like 3 security staff had also been assaulted.  
 
Hope the men are found, charged, jailed and banned from all Brandon bars.

What I don't understand is you too were a bystander and you mention you didn't do anything. You are only 90lbs wet. Did you notify the upstairs staff at all? If not you are with the same crowd that did nothing. You may be small but I am sure you have a voice. It is sad this happened and I hope the men get what is coming to them. What I find even more frustrating is reading someone witness an event then complain nobody did anything....including themselves. Not even a call for help.

Possibly out-of-towners thinking they could pull this kind of shit and get away with it.  
 
Years ago while delivering pizza I was coming down Princess when the car in front of me suddenly pulled over and stopped about a block and a half ahead of me - at the corner of 10th on the north side. Three guys jumped out and proceeded to beat the hell out of some poor guy walking on the sidewalk. I pulled up behind their car and they quit beating the guy and jumped back into their car - then took off.  
 
Too bad for them that I got the make, model and plate number. They were from North Dakota and were arrested at a local hotel a short while later.  
 
I can't believe a crowd of people let supposed grown men beat on a woman, regardless of the reason for it. Pathetic!

The thing is even breaking up a fight can be dangerous. Lots of people get assaulted, stabbed, shot and seriously injured or killed because they try to break up a fight. I don't blame someone for being hesitant to get involved. I had a friend get stabbed three times trying to break up a fight in a bar. It happens all the time. If its your job to break up fights, then its different, but you cant blame someone for not getting involved and the thing is none of us were there other than the OP, so its hard to say what one would do. Lots of people talk tough and say they would get involved, but when it comes down to it, its all talk no action.

I am not making excuses for these men as I am opposed to violence under any circumstances but I watched the news tonight and the victim could easily be mistaken for a male...  

know if the men who assaulted her were the same that assaulted the 3 security staff. They may have been all separate events by different people. The by-standers likely were aware of those events and were wary of stepping in.

It's hard to make that decision in the heat of the moment. Most people I think are in shock for the first few minutes of seeing something like that happen. I was in a similar situation once. I was out with a few girlfriends of mine (I'm female) and a guy friend. We were sitting in a booth and my gentleman of a friend standing at the end. We were having a great time, chatting and laughing with no thought of what would happen next. Two big guys in a flash came running over to our table, grabbed our guy friend, who had is back turned and didn't see them coming, and started kicking the bejeezus out of him. One after the other. Pounding his face right in front of our table. I couldn't believe my eyes. What the F was happening I thought. Shocked and scared , I didn't know what to do. A thousand thoughts raced through my mind...... Should I step in? If I did how could I stop it? What if I get hurt? Someone will come. All those thoughts in a split second. No one came to help. I decided I had to do something (liquid courage I guess), I leaped over my friend, grabbed the guys fist and tried to stop the punches. I remember the guy stopped his last punch in mid air, thank god. The bouncers arrived finally. It's not always easy to know what to do at the time. I certainly didn't know what could have happened to me. I was expecting a good pop in my mouth for getting in the way. More by accident then on purpose but I've witnessed a few fights and that is the only one I've ever intervened. It was scary.

You can't see the problem with two guys beating the heck out of one woman in a crowded public place?

Violence is never an answer, regardless of creed, manifesto, skin colour, or the size of your (insert whatever).

They scan your license and take your picture at the front door. They have security cameras throughout the bar.

the girl is lucky she was not killed with a punch to the head.  
 
strenght in numbers. you hear of this behavoir in the US where people just stand around and watch the show when some one gets assaulted or killed.

are bouncers there to only ask you to leave if your a bit obnoxious, but no response when there is a fight.

I've been wondering this too. Even if no one actually knows them, shouldnt they have the pics of the id of everyone who entered the bar, can they not be identified from there.  
 
I actually do understand why no one stepped in, its normal crowd behavior. When something like this happens, everyone is shocked and also assumes that, well someone else is going to step in any minute now and do something....and it ends up that no one does because theyre all waiting for someone else. Add alcohol to the mix and its worse.  
 
I hope the bar is really stepping up to help the police solve this. Poor girl, best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

First and foremost I'd like to thank those for there kind words,respect and warm get well wishes to my sister. Yes my sister. She was the victim in all of this. I want to come forward and direct the ones with the negative comments or excuses for these animals and say that of course you would be quick to judge and ridicule her if you weren't there and don't know the full story. I suggest getting educated first then state your two sence. To those stating in reference to her sex...I'm appalled that that would even make a difference. What difference does it make how we are dressed or hold ourselves. We should not have to dress in a mini skirt so men don't confuse us when they plan on brutally beating us. The last time I checked it's completely up to us how we want to dress and present ourselves. However for the record...there was no fight. A fight is exchanging fist or shoving and is two ways. This was not. This was an attack all because one man did take rejection well?? Seriously there was only likely another 200 women to try and pick up in there but these animals clearly haven't heard the answer no. Besides everything that was posted in ignorance and unknown facts she is somebody's somebody regardless of sex,sexual orientation she is a sister,daughter,fiancé, aunty and friend to people who love her dearly. She is a loving human being that should have NEVER had to go threw this. It makes me wonder if those judging do not have a mother or sister or wife/girlfriend cause I can guarantee you if this was someone you love you would feel the way our family does. The pain and suffering she had endured all because of some losers that are used to using violence to get there way. Please get over yourselves you pathetic human beings your a needle in a haystack. There are a lot of other men to choose from just because you weren't one doesn't mean you have the right to beat women. I'm assuming these tough tough men sure feel proud of themselves for beating a women but why are you hiding then? Come forward if you did nothing wrong and please give us your side of the story....oh that's right I forgot there isn't one you pathetic excuses for a human being. Call me crazy but I would step in any day of the week to help another citizen that was getting beaten. My sister could have been killed over this. It more than concerns me that these animals are running around waiting to force the next women to go home with them. Sick sick world we live in. Men are to never hit a women regardless of the situation. It's just never except able!! As for the bouncers...shame on you. We will hold you responsible because that is your job!! That's exactly why your standing there over viewing the place..to protect the public. It's your job to keep other safe at all times. We should not have to fear for our lives in a public place. I'd like to please once again thank all of the wonderful people that have been more than supportive to my sister and family it's amazing how many good people there actually is when something so disturbing as this happens. Your caring kindness has not gone unnoticed. We just ask the public to please if you hear anything or seen anything to please contact us as these animals need to be punished and off the street before they do it to someone you love.
