I know there was a discussion on here awhile ago about where in Brandon the shops that might help you sell your homemade crafts but I can not find the discussion a list of shops would be great .

Are Etsy ,storenvy ,Zibbet online good places to sell crafts ?

I sell my handmade jewellery on Etsy. It is an easy to use and it is a great online shop to refer customers to but there is lots of competition on there. 90% of my sales have gone to the states through Etsy. Not many are from Canada.  
 
There are also a variety of Art Studio's around Westman that sell artisans products such as Inspire in Minnedosa, Art Mosaic in Virden and Lagassee in Souris. I am not sure about places in Brandon though.

A couple of ones I have tried are with Etsy online and through the Global Market!  
I have had some success through the Global Market, more so than the other trade and craft shows I've been to in the area. Etsy again is good but it's slow going until you advertise and gain some popularity cause there is a lot of competition on there.

There are also lots of fall craft sales. The following facebook sites are great for finding sale information as well as on ebrandon in the classifieds. I try and do the handmade only sales as I find you get a different crowd at them who are looking for handmade items. Some craft sales are better than others, it depends on how much advertising they do.

I think a new store has opened in Souris. I think it is called Legace? I think they take consignment items.

I checked into this as well - they want 20% of your sales - they want you to pay $25.00 towards the Rent of the building - and have a one year lease with them - so whether you sell anything or not, you still pay the $25.00 - and I believe they also set the prices of your goods -  
 
if I am wrong, I am sure someone will be on shortly and slam me =: so this might just get us more info.  
 
For myself - I chose not to use a vendor - and do my selling during the Farmers Markets now - perhaps you could try that as well.

Stores charge for product displays all the time. And what business sells something without taking a portion of the profit?

I have artwork and my novels at the studio in Souris. There is a $25 charge a month and commission of 25%. This may sound costly but most galleries charge 40% and to put my novels in Coles or other bookstore is 40% commission. I do not have a year long lease and I've never heard of Kathleen asking for one. The artist or crafter sets the price they want to receive and it is priced accordingly. (Sorry i'm posting from my iPhone and don't have the original post in front of me). As far as types of items the requirement is that they be handmade (or in the case of my novels, written by me). You would not believe the variety and quality of the items in the studio and if you are selling or just visiting Souris it is a great place to stop by. And there is absolutely no worry of getting slammed ...
