I've noticed the same thing. There isn't near as much selection as before.

I completely agree, sure it looks a lot nicer, but I was there this weekend and the selection sucks!

Not a great selection anymore. Too bad because it looks so much more organized now.

There is less, but I have an easier time finding stuff because it's organized.

Yes they did change their line. Personally, am noticing less selection in women's wear. I also noticed that their prices have now increased on products in their grocery area. I do not understand the renovations/more costs to consumers concept. People went there because you could actually afford to buy their products as a nice price. I would prefer less cost to aesthetics any time!

The selection of regular sized women's clothing is minimal and the style and variety is disappointing. I did notice there seems to be more in the plus sized section though. There also seems to be less home decor items too. Overall prices went up, which is too bad. I used to spend alot of money there, but now I dont even bother making the trip.

So you do not shop there because the prices have increased. Not that I have ever stepped foot in the place, but from what I've heard, it is one of the cheapest places in town. My question is where do you shop now because you don't even waste your time going there. I'm sure they don't care about you not going there as the parking lot looks full to me every time I drive by. Good for them for making money. If you're not money, you won't be a n business long.

I shop at other stores, where I can get the same quality for less, or better quality for the same price now. And absolutely they will care, as I'm clearly not the only one who feels there has been a change from the products and prices they used to have, its the power of the consumer. But if you've never ever stepped foot in the place, how would you really know.

It WAS one of the cheapest places in town, but not much anymore. I used to shop there a couple times a week, now Ive only been there 2 times in last 2 months. Walmart is cheaper now for most things I used to buy, and has a bigger selection. So I find myself spending my money at Walmart instead of GT. And the last 2 times I''ve gone, I''ve only bought a handful of items each time.  
I miss the old clothing as well at GT. I used to buy clothing for me or my daughter regularly. Haven''t bought any clothing from there since early July.( and we bought clothing weekly or biweekly). I''m very disappointed with the section they have now. So is my daughter, she thought it looked dreary (lack of any bright colors in the clothing). I tried to find clothing for a child for a gift, and they only had 3 different designs in the size I needed for a shirt. So off to Walmart we went again.  
The store itself looks fabulous, but It''s too bad it lost the low prices and selection in the process.  
Just my opinion.

I wonder the if lack of selection is more to do with the size of the store? I know the GT by my parents' place in Transcona is HUGE compared to the one in Brandon (easily 2x's the size) and it has a fabulous selection of clothing. It was recently redone too into a similar style as the Brandon one. It might be that the "new" style of store isn't great for the size of footprint. There was more stuff in the old set-up, for sure.

Is there actually less selection or does it only appear that way? With the new walls, merchandise is more spread out instead of cramped onto all the round racks. I personally prefer it now, since I hate sifting through racks and can see a lot more of the product by taking a quick glance.  
 
My suggestion is to contact GT head office and let them know your issues with the new layout/selection. I've worked at a few major retail establishments and found head office only listen to their staff when it's positive feedback and it fits with the company koolaid. Customer complaints are best made directly for maximum effect.  
 
Remember not to rip into the non-management staff. It's all out of their control. Complaints and suggestions should be brought up diplomatically with management. Keep in mind they usually don't have much say or any say at all either. I've been through a reno in a store myself and know how frustrating it can be.

I guess it depends on what you're buying but I never found it much cheaper (if at all) compared to Walmart or even sobeys. I always found their produce was not up to par with quality, quantity and selection so when priced per pound, it seemed expensive.  
 
Haven't been in since the renos but will eventually get there. When they have sales, there is sometimes a good deal!

Does anybody know if Giant Tiger is a more responsible purchaser and employer than Wal-Mart? I feel good about shopping at Costco, for example, knowing they treat their staff so well and have an understandable pricing policy.

Someone above says they shop for clothes weekly.  
I am lucky if I buy clothes once a year.

Went last night for a few grocery deals. I was impressed with the clothing, looks like it's expanded to me but I didn't look too thoroughly

I have had multiple experiences with the GM of the store and have been extremely impressed with the generosity the corporation shows toward community donations and involvement, including school breakfast programs. I will absolutely continue to support this kind of community minded business.

I am having a hard time my self. As a plus size women and there is really not much selection for clothing in Walmart as they have been no there for years. And when then did get something in it was a haultertop Dress? I am still wearing clothes that I had 10 years agof because I don't want to pay $40 for a see through shirt. Even pj's are starting to get into short supply
