We really need more toys selections in brandon area.

More gelato selection!

Costco, Old Navy, Dress Barn, Pierre One Imports.  
 
It would be great to see added parks with playground structures, bonfire pits etc. located in areas other than the flood zones.

Clothing stores (for all ages and both genders), Chapters, Chamois car wash, Old Navy, Toys R Us, more options for housewares, linens, etc like bed, bath beyond and of course Costco (the never ending dream) ....but please no more restaurants. We have too many and more are coming.

Realisticly speaking... Costco, Old navy and Toys R Us. They would do well in Brandon.

These companies do their research before THEY DECIDE where to setup stores.

Grow if some of these clothing companies etc. aren't willing to come to Brandon....people of Brandon are always asked what they want to see come here but nothing is really ever looked into when a list of businesses are recommended from people of Brandon....so why bother asking????? People will start leaving Brandon because there really isn't anything here for shopping!

with the toys, there isn't much selection for the most part other than walmart i suppose, definitely have way to many restaurants: and as far as costco goes: they would be here already if brandon was suitable in size.

In Winnipeg. If you ask management, They have already said that Costco is actively looking at Brandon.  
 
It pretty much common sense to research any type of business whether small or big. For example, Five guys. Pretty sure they did their homework prior to opening and look at them now.  
 
Those 3 corporately owned stores have the best ratio of actually working out for Brandon. Yeah Costco will be a while. But Old navy is guaranteed to be a success. There is no store like it in Brandon and same goes for toys r us.

These for sure and it would be nice to have these more up on the number one highway like other cities.....even another major grocery store (perhaps another Superstore and gas station as the other is pretty busy), Marshalls, maybe some outlet stores. I can think of Regina's set up as one nice example when you drive in. Brandon for some reason seems slow to get things going? Unfortunately many of us really need to shop online to get what we need here.

Brandon is not big enough. A Costco in Brandon would kill the small towns and the smaller grocery chains. Why do you want to give your money to a multinational corporation and kill off the locally owned stores?

It won't hurt other grocery chains. You do know that Costco carries little items vs a grocery store or even Wal-Mart? I believe a grocery store like Sobeys or Superstore carry 10 times the product of what Costco sells in their warehouse.  
 
There's no way Costco would hurt any store in Brandon. Most families would have to stop shopping at grocery stores and strictly shop only at Costco, which is impossible!  
 
Brandon may not be big enough, but the surrounding population including cities by Saksatchewan and North Dakota border shows there is enough to support one.

a good vegetarian restaurant..not just a restaurant offering the obligatory "vegi burger" cooked on the same grill as the regular burger.

Speaking of new.. there's going to be a Mediterranean restaurant at the old wildflower cafe on Rosser. Opening will be this oct. I believe it's called Sharwma Queen.

We just traveled through the States from N.D, to Washington State & up to B.C.. We found that we watch the signs along the highway for what each town/ city has to offer. In our case we were looking for campgrounds close to shopping. Hint...we would have passed Brandon..

Brandon has a ton of restaurants.... but they are all the same (pizza and burgers) What Brandon needs is some form of entertainment (family entertainment other then the movies).... indoor mini golf, rock climbing, laser tag anything like that. Brandon keeps growing and more stores keep popping up but they seem to be similar to the already existing store ..... something completely new and different would be wonderful.

I agree Brandon could use a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. Boon Burger would do well i think, we go to Winnipeg for it otherwise and its amazing!

I really miss the regular (every weekend of the year) flea markets from when I lived in Edmonton. They had at least two huge ones that I know of.  
It was really lively, with all sorts of stuff you cannot buy or get otherwise, and the used electronics was always my favorite thing. During the summer the parking lot was partially occupied with vendors of fresh produce as well.  
Could Brandon have an indoor/outdoor space which could support something like that?? (Wink-Wink West-end space that used to be K-mart)

I would give them all of my money. It's a great, affordable clothing store.  
 
I've been preaching this for years. E-mail them and tell them they are wanted.

So essentially then the entire basis of this discussion thread is meaningless and you posted that inane response for no reason other than to troll someone for their opinion on retail..

.... restaurants will come and go at the same pace they have for the last couple of decades. Retail outlets of every variety will have done a cost/benefit analysis and come to their conclusions.  
 
I truly believe it is entertainment that Brandon needs. It pretty easy to get through what's available currently and have to look outside the city for other options.  
 
A world class casino, development of yearly festivals, more options in the arts perhaps an expansion of our current art gallery so we can attract larger displays, a year round water park.

Have noted on weekends bus from Winnipeg full of people at Sandhills at Carberry. If they're willing to travel there (middle of nowhere), Brandon would be even more appealing.  
And yes folks, it is entertainment!

Gotta agree with mackenzie5 on that one. We need good cell service, like the providers advertise on their coverage maps. Currently, it is so hit and miss, even in Brandon, let alone outside of Brandon.

a safe place to hang out, to meet friends. The North Hill area has nothing for teens, the only "open and free" spot is the Sportsplex. As for shopping, Old Navy would be awesome, so would a Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Costco. More locally owned small restaurants, with authentic home cooking would also be great, no more franchise fast food joints.

needs an outdoor grandstand facility that can host various events from motorsports, concerts, rodeos, etc. Something like what's in Austin or Morris.
