are a family favorite, we do 1 with rice & veggies & ground beef, another with rice veggies & sausages, and a family favorite Potatoes chicken & veggies. If you slice potatoes thin even with a chicken breast (which takes the longest of the 3 to cook) in the foil pack it''s 20-25 minutes to cook at the very most. We add soup broth to our foil dinners, same amount as you would water for the rice ones & usually some cream of mushroom or tomato basil in the potato one.  
Corn on the cob (cook right in husk) is another favorite if we''re going to do burgers or smokeys or something, again foil potatoes because they''re quick & easy- really I don''t know what I''d do with out potatoes lol. Hobo stew is a staple if it''s a long camping trip- we make ours in a can- ground beef seasoning veggies, broth to with foil & just set over fire I usually put a biscuit on top of each can & it''s amazing!  
 
Eggs and breakfast meats & potatoes are always a favorite in the morning, again just cubed small or sliced thin so they cook up quick with some onions & seasoning. Sometimes I make hash which is a camping favorite <:img src=:images/icon_smiley.gif>:  
 
Lunches are usually same as lunches at home, cold plate, fruits, veggies, nuts, meats etc. no cooking at lunch.  
 
I should add that we do foil dinners individually & we layer the foil- foil, wet newspaper, foil. seal the edges of the foil pieces after wet paper is in the middle, then add your ingredients, and seal it all together well it helps it steam & keeps the food in the pack from burning at high temps. Plus kids like to add their own stuff so it's like a buffet of what you're going to have in your meal I just put everything out on the table so they can choose & let them add, then I add the broth seal them up & toss them in the fire. They're usually done by the time the picnic table is cleared off and ready to eat on.

Abbysmum, I am guessing from your posts you are tent camping. Been there done that, it''s a bit harder than the camper kitchen with plug ins! Now or before in a tent, I used to pre-cook things to avoid the greasy mess from bacon or the starchy mess from potatoes. Pre cook potatoes fully then fry in a pan over the fire or almost fully cooked and put in foil packets. If you don''t want to pre-cook, make smaller packets and more. With all of your children, each child could have a "custom" potato packet with their own spices etc. I find the big family ones we do take an hour but the little ones cook much faster. Any slighly pre-cooked veggies in foil with butter. Bacon almost to point of being crisp. Corn wrapped in bacon in tin foil, this is a new one my step-sons girlfriend just taught us. I also have bbq cookbooks and camping meal cookbooks. Good resources and so is the internet of course. I've read through most of the comments and it appears that most people want every thing cooked. I will admit that I might be a bit different, but when it comes to fruits and just about all vegetables they are pretty good raw, that includes things like potatoes and corn on the cob, when it comes to your sources of protiens like meats and stuff, you can have dried and smoked meat of different varieties, there is also cheese and if you have a good cooler you can take hard boiled eggs. Camping for me meant getting away from ordinary every day life, and that included cooking.

No, we don't tent camp, but we do have the world's smallest tent trailer (or at least, it feels like it with all these people!). It's seriously small - the box is 6x6ish only, no fridge (although it has an in-and-out stove), barely any storage, etc. So things are very lean in terms of equipment. We bought it several kids ago, so it's probably time to upgrade.  
 
Some more great ideas on here! We tried a few of them this past weekend (par-cooked bacon was a hit, finished in the frying pan and then tossed some eggs to fry in the bit of bacon grease... yum! as was the chicken-on-a-stick, prepared at home with marinade and frozen, thaw in cooler then cook over fire), and we've got a "big trip" coming up where we're gone for most of a week.

I would suggest you go to Giant Tiger and buy their cubed potatoe mix in the freezer section - you can use this in your hobo packages too - and for quicker cooking - I don't know about eating raw potatoes and corn on the cob though - unless you are talking about chips don - lol - I sure would not want to chew on raw potatoes - and like the rest have said, there are lots of meat options in the freezer department there - toss them frozen into your cooler, and off you go - let us know how it goes for you - and grab some foil too - Dollarama has that - it shouldn't cost you a bunch more than eating at home -

We make pizzas over the fire. And then your basic potatoes and meat. Hot dogs of course lol. If you get those cast iron sandwich makers you can make pizza pockets or dessert pockets over the fire! We do all our meals over the fire (unless it's raining then we have a bbq). I have yet to use my stove inside. I have a heavy duty aluminium baking pan that we use for potatoes, and just keep basic spices.
