You mean the Suburban Restaurant? Unfortunately I don’t have much info to provide. I was there once as a young adult with my parents to celebrate their anniversary. At the time I believe it was considered to be one of Brandon’s “fine dining” experiences and was located on Victoria Avenue but I’m not sure where/what is in that location now. I look forward to reading what others have to say about this former Brandon business.

I believe it was on 26th and Victoria. Knocked down for a Robin's donuts. Not sure if it is open now as a restaurant or it has closed down due to Covid.  
 
Only had one meal there and was very good. Went to the lounge a couple of times. At that time there were a few higher class restaurants/ lounges. Kokano's downstairs in Scotia tower. Red Fox close to Neelin school and the North hill.

According to the Brandon Sun, the Suburban Restaurant served its last meals on May 14, 1989. It was later knocked down to make way for a Mac's convenience store.  
 
If memory serves right, it then became a Robin's Donuts for a number of years. It is currently the Clay Pot Café.

That’s what I remember about the Suburban. The restaurant was a favourite of my parents, and sometimes they’d take us kids or just bring home some pie for us.

Their buns were famous too.

The Suburban was owned by Walter Wasem And his wife Wilma. Walter was also the director of dietetics of the Brandon General Hospital for a number of years. The Suburban was known for excellent fine dining. There was a lounge and dining area. Well known for It’s prime rib and ribs along with everything else found in an old school restaurant. Everything was homemade in the kitchen from the BBQ sauce to the deserts. If you would like the same experience today try Rae&Jerrys in Winnipeg on portage ave. Another staple of the Suburban was Morris the Maître,D who always made sure the customers were happy.

I worked with Maurice the maitre d at another business long after the Suburban closed. He told us many many stories about the restaurant that he loved so much. He not only made the customers happy, but after working with him he made the people he worked feel the same way. There were days after I went home that I wished I had worked at the Suburban also, seemed like a great place to be.

I was a radio announcer at CKX in the mid 70’s and some of the staff including my boss at the time were regulars there. When times and music were good. Lol.

I worked in the kitchen at the north hill restaurant when I was a teen. The owners name was "Boles" and the head cook and baker name was Wilma. (she made the buns and the pecan pie). The Ink Spots and The Irish Rovers used to love her baking when they performed up there. At the time Wilma used to work at both the North hill and Suburban, I think other staff would be moved if one place was super busy and I always thought Boles owned both places.

The furniture and fixtures were auctioned off and we have 6 of the burgundy dining chairs in our cabin

The Clay Pot closed down awhile ago, and the building re-opened as NEO Eatery.

In my defence, I am ranting from Winnipeg! Thanks for the update. (Stupid Google failed me)

When our kids were young in the late 80’s they were introduced to the suburban at toddler ages. Maurice was so good to them. He would make them Shirley temples and they got to sit up at the little bar. The food was awesome. Fresh buns especially I remember. It was the place to go for fine dining and we all dressed up. The staff was excellent and went out of their way to make you welcome. My in-laws lived on 27 th so we would just walk up the street on a weekend to dine. Miss that landmark.
