Grader breaks through ice early 90's

I've tried searching online, but can't find a news story. In the early 90s, a (city?) grader fell through the ice on the Assiniboine. Because of some family pictures that I have, I know it was some time between 1991-1993.

Does anyone recall the year? It was early spring, I believe.

I remember that,
It was grading the snow off the river for a car ice race

I remembered it was for a race of some sort.

You don't happen to remember what year? My late husband was the one who dived underwater (wet suit & gear) to attach cables to haul it out.

Below is an article in the Brandon Sun from the time. It’s dated Saturday February 29, 1992 which would have been a day after the grader fell thru the ice. I actually completely forgot I had that article. It would be interesting to find out how they recovered it.

Thank you so much for posting this!

My late husband (a scuba diver) dove down and attached winch cables? to the grader and then it was hauled out. I have a whole series of pictures.
