UN Anti-Racism Conference debacle
4/21/2009 at 8:54 AM
Looks like the UN conference to confirm the anti-racism agreement from Durban is picking up where the last one left off. The very first speech from any nation after the introductions and preamble where done was none other than Iran's Ahmadinejad. What kind of planner sets a holocaust denier as the first speaker at an anti-racism conference?
Ahmadinejad didn't disappoint and immediately condemned Israel as the most racist nation on the planet. Over 20 representatives that hadn't already boycotted the conference walked out at that point. Who's supposed to take the UN seriously when this is the best they can manage on something as fundamental as talking about racism?
