Question

On the CBC news tonight, there was an article about a Canadian citizen on death row in the states (for I believe two murders). His lawyer is pressing the Canadian Gov't to plead for clemency and have him returned to Canada to serve a somewhat reduced sentence.
This fellow was found guilty of two murders in a state that has the death sentence.
He should have been aware of what he could be facing.
Should my tax dollar go to keep this guy in a Canadian jail for life, which is only 25 years, with time off for good behavior, and our double time for time served rule?
