It would seem to me that someone is responsible for allowing an internet disagreement on social issues to make there way into our court systems and being given the potential of making precedence on our freedom of expression. The Crown is displaying incompetence that I'm afraid to describe.

These sorts of movements will only serve to silence people and make them afraid to speak openly. Gregory Alan Elliott (age 54) was defending the rights of Ben Spurr who made an offensive video game, while donating his time to help the offended party, Stephanie Guthrie and Heather Reilly, who began plotting online shaming tactics against Ben Spurr with Gregory. Gregory was quoted as saying he thought the shaming “was every bit as vicious as the face-punch game”. Ben Spurr is a 25 year old video gamer from Sault Ste. Marie, who's video game depicts feminist Anita Sarkeesian being punched in the face.  
 
Gregory Allen Elliot has lost his job and has been dealing with 3 years of "complicated" court proceedings that are in this OP's opinion very questionable.

Gregory Allen Elliott also faced false allegations of sexual assault that cost him his living, which were later dropped.  
 
I searched CTV, Global and CBC. There is ZERO coverage of the story. Nice work Canada news network! Are you honestly just missing it? Not much attention being given to this subject. I would hope that when we each face our own form of censorship, that we might have someone stand with us, but i think i'm being naive. People are honestly afraid of the politically correct enforcement of the ideals of the state today, and i think i understand why. When someone makes a stand, today everyone else ducks.  
 
I won't push this topic after this, if people in Westman are not interested in their rights to freedom of expression, more censorship is what you'll get. Plain and simple.<:!- W ->:

This will never gain traction in our media as it doesn't fit the liberal agenda. We also don't charge women with giving false police reports of rape and if their is a murder with make and female perpetrators it has to be the male at fault. That is just the way it is.

Thanks for chiming in the Quiet One (ironically not so quiet). That is the difficult part to understand, If you get what i mean. The idea of something like this actually happening in reality, should have that effect. We shouldn't find it easy to comprehend, because it makes absolutely no sense that a 54 year old Canadian artist/poet should have his life completely disrupted because he chose to defend someone Else's freedom of speech, only to have his stolen from him completely.  
 
He is currently facing 5 years in prison for no applicable law, from what i can observe.
