I''ve been to Standing Rock and it''s nothing like what u seen. Those are not even real posts u seen about it and if it was real it was strangers paid to do that from the pipeline construction company , the protestors are nothing but peaceful.. there was even a lil baby born right in the camp and is doing amazing

" Did you know, the initial hearings never took place? That the land they are digging up is protected land, and the owners of the land. Be it farmers, or the local indigenous tribes. Force has been used against the people, who have flexed back in very small ways. Comparitively speaking.     Let's not forget. This same body of water runs into the Assiniboine River. Which I already choose not to eat from, because of the local run off from the city. "

I won't comment on the vast majority of your post because I haven't paid enough attention to the protest to really have an opinion, or quite frankly care.  
 
But your statement regarding the Assiniboine River is completely inaccurate. The area of the protest is around the Missouri River, which eventually will drain through the Mississippi River into the Gulf of Mexico. The Assiniboine River drains into the Red River, which runs north winding up in Hudson's Bay.  
 
In no way, shape, or form does the last part of your post have any shred of truth to it, and is just as much fear mongering as what you are accusing the pro-pipeline crowd of being.

I missed the part where you "proved me wrong". How could you possibly know what I've seen or not seen? Is it possible that things happened while you were not there? And as for paid protestors, I do believe that they are there, but certainly not hired by the pipeline! They're brought in by the anti-oil lobby.  
 
I will say for the most part the protests are peaceful, but I stand by my opinion that they're in the wrong.

Remember when folks were denying that there were public hearings? Remember when they claimed this project was being fast-tracked?

There is bias in all of the news reports we see, read and hear. The local North Dakota news leans more toward the point of view of local residents, farmers and ranchers, while the big media, the alphabet TV networks, including the Canadian ones, are completely biased in favour of the protesters, environmental activist thugs and connections to the Democrat Party..

I am not a watershed specialist. I looked at a map, and connected the dots. So I stand mistaken. Any oil spilled, if the safety shutoff devices didn't choke off the lake once the spill happens will run into the Gulf of Mexico instead of coming here. No big deal. We won't have to deal with the problem, so let's not be concerned about it. Right?  
 
Also, lets try and keep in mind who it is using the sound cannons, concussion grenades, and wheeling the heavy machinery along with militarized government vehicles. You guess it. It's not the peaceful protestors, but their oppressors.

I really don't think the way the Morton County Sherrif's is conducting themselves commands any type of respect. Shooting down the drones, and confiscating as much video as they could locate. Why would they confiscate this information, if they were conducting themselves in a dignifying way?

There was a meeting between DAPL and Standing Rock.  
It was made very clear, from the start of the "meeting", that SR was against the pipeline back in 2014.  
 
There is a pipeline that is in the same area HOWEVER it was built prior to Laws requiring FN/Tribal consultations.  
Obviously, any concerns would have been ignored.

That oil for North Dakota is going to market. Fact...That oil is going to cross over the river ,either by rail or truck or pipe. The safest way is by pipeline. There is already a pipeline crossing there.Minot used to have one oil train a day pass thru, now it has one an hour how safe is that. People say leave the oil in the ground. WHO AMONG US IS PREPARED TO GIVE UP THEIR CAR, THEIR VACATIONS AND CENTRAL HEAT, THAT LINE IS PRETTY SHORT. If we gave up every product that was made from oil our houses would be empty.

Burning trucks on a highway bridge can't be considered peaceful. Burning bulldozers can't be con sidered peaceful. There are a lot of professional trouble makers infiltrating the peaceful protest, I pray that something bad doesn't happen. Disrupting the lives of all the people in that area can't be considered peaceful.

Perhaps someone could correct me if I'm wrong.  
 
From what I gather the pipeline company applied for all the permits required by law and was granted permission by the government to proceed.  
 
At that point people decided they didn't agree with the decision so they decided to protest, which is legal and their right.  
 
At some point the court system reviewed both sides of the disagreement and made a decision that the protest was invalid and that work should commence, which is how the law works, correct ?  
 
So technically, wouldn't anyone protesting after the court decision be beyond their right to protest anymore ?  
 
My question is, where do we draw the line with protest's, should they be allowed to go on indefinitely even after they've lost in the courts ?  
 
Also, blockading a road, physically obstructing anyone's freedom to move about or destroying property hardly seems like peaceful action, to be truly peaceful a protest would have to not interfere with anything.

I been trying to find out why the US army corp of enginnners has decided to rethink the proposed route, basically all been able to find is that they will not grant access to the land where the lake is, interesting turn of events.

Has anyone questioned the environmental impact the protest itself has on the nearby environment ?  
 
Every image I see looks like a small city worth of people packed into a few acres, piles of cars and rows of out houses.  
 
Hopefully the protesters themselves are making sure the occupation area is kept clean, everything packed in is packed out and not left blowing in the breeze.
