The OP got their answer quite a few posts up, so you can lay off of these folks that hold a different viewpoint. There is nothing wrong with their thinking and considering that the answer has been posted, I see no reason why these flowers cannot be talked about in a different light.
Some of these other folks posting won't have a perfect lawn because they don't have what I call "city grass." They might actually be from ...the country(!!), may actually mow a MUCH larger lawn than you do, and will have invasive grasses to deal with, which are much more of an issue than simple dandelions. They also may have more important things to deal with than dandelions too. A few dandelions can add a bit of special color believe it or not and can add a spot of joy to those lawns. Any child will recognize this! It is just not an emergency or thing to panic over when you are in the country.
Now for a mind blowing fact...dandelions are super healthy. The whole thing is edible. It is excellent for liver health. It can be eaten as salad. You can use them to make a tasty jam or wine. I found out recently that it is actually antiviral. It is so beneficial like so many other "weeds." It is very fascinating the properties many weeds have and the medicine is free. They are so very underappreciated.
It is too bad that you hold such a negative, narrow & (imo) vain city view.
If you need an answer how to get rid of them, if you feel the pressing need, you will find the answer above. It is work, work, work, or you can declare "war" & just eat them.
