We don't use cedar, we just use untreated wood. They last about 4-6 years, but by then usually we've changed our minds and are ripping it out, LOL. This is our 10th summer here and we've had no fewer 3 major reconfigurations/expansions and are doing another this year, although what's in place will remain essentially unchanged.
I don't have room for a large plot, so I have multiple smaller ones, ranging from 4x8 to 8x12, with most around 4x12. My total growing space by the end of this expansion will be roughly 500 square feet spread over 8 plots, plus wherever I can tuck pots/containers/barrels etc (not including perennials and fruiting trees).
