Does anyone have any top tips on preventing what appears to be fungal root rot in garden peas please. I practice crop rotation and use new seed but this year I had a devil of a job getting peas to germinate or even stay alive after germination , the same problem after reseeding. Of course my neighbours had 2 beautiful rows of peas lol. Advice appreciated, chemical options seem to be getting harder to find but I was thinking of using some kind of garden dust when I sow? Thank you.

.....I always soaked my peas in water the night before I planted them, my Mom, my Grandmother all did this. Are the plants broke off right at ground level, if so that is usually a beetle of some kind and it kills the plant. Used to be able to dust around the bottoms but not sure if they sell that or not anymore. I haven't had a garden in years.......

We did soak most of them in water overnight for the first sowing, I think that the unsoaked seed germinated better. Most of the seed didn’t emerge and when reseeding the original seed were mostly gone. A few of the plants that did germinate turned yellow and seemed rotted off at the base of the stem.  
My grandfather always soaked his peas on paraffin overnight before sowing. Maybe I should try that.
