in our local roadside ditch we have a couple of different Milkweeds, The first picture I believe is Showy Milkweed (Asclepias speciosa) . image below.
The second I'm thinking is Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata), but a white flower rather than pink. image on right.
If anyone could confirm my identification I'd be grateful.
Have only seen around a dozen Monarch caterpillars on numerous plants this summer, definitely less than last year.
