Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping cats out of the garden? They are destroying my flowers! They are stray cats that use the flower beds as their personal litter box. It is very frustrating. Any help would be very appreciated!

Keep a water gun handy if you can catch them in the act. It would certainly make them think twice before coming back to your yard.  
You can also lay chicken wire down and let the plants grow up through it, but the cats can't dig in it.

I'm going to try the eggshells and the jars. I never see them in there so I don't think I'd be quick enough to get them with a spray bottle. But I like the chicken wire idea! We aren't in Brandon, it's people in a small town letting their cats roam free

Crunched up egg shells do the trick.  
They neighbourhood "strays " stopped using my gardens as their litter box ! !

Yes we also have the same problem with cats yikes!! We usually chase them out lol!! Have to try these ideas!!

Definitely works, we tried that last year and the problem quickly disappeared. It was used coffee grinds we used.

They do there stuff in there garden, pepper gets on there paws, cats lick their paws, pepper gets in mouth, cats move to neighbors garden.

There are motion activated sprinklers that work well.

More applicable to vegetable gardens, but I have used rows of plastic forks stuck in the ground (tines up) in between my seed rows. Works great.

The City of Brandon has a bylaw and all cats, just like all dogs are not allowed by law to run-at-large. Contact ACO @ BPS 729-2345. If you know who owns the cats, ACO, if they're doing the job properly, will inform cat owners of bylaw and proceed from there.  
 
Cat owners only get away from abiding by this bylaw because people don't call to have bylaw enforced repeatedly. Dogs aren't allowed to do anything without ACO enforcing the bylaw and it's time cat owners are treated the same way.  
 
If a cat is allowed to dig around and smell up my gardens, my dog should be given the same freedom all across the city in everybody's garden.  
 
I've been known to torpedo cat turds back to the rightful property. I didn't want to be found in possession of items that didn't belong to me.

Not the cats it's the owners if the want to call themselves that, unfortunately people are to lazy to do anything with their cats, I had a neighbor, whose cat was crapping in my flower beds all the time, I approached them and said hey look this is what's up, and I was told by the owner that I can't control where my cats crap.
