I was thinking the same thing....lol! I know there are specific things to look for to tell if a berry is poisonous, but still, if you don't know what it is for sure, I wouldn't be testing it out. " |

I was wondering the same thing.
From as far as I can tell, it's not anything that is recognized as a wild edible berry in Manitoba. It's definiately not highbush cranberry (the leaf shape is wrong). It's also not a nanking cherry (also doesn't grow as drupes, but as single berries) or currants (leaf shape is wrong). It's also not a chokecherry (wrong colour) or a pincherry (wrong leaves again).
Here's a list of the edible berries in Manitoba. I didn't see any candidates on the list, but maybe someone will have better luck than I.
