Does anyone know if the fire ban affects provincial parks? Will we be able to have a fire for cooking or is that a no-go if the ban is still in place on the long weekend?  
I do plan to call the campground but figured I'd see if anyone has been camping and would know.

Yes, the fire ban is in effect in parks. I was at Spruce Woods this afternoon. There are posted signs at every firepit that fires at NOT permitted.

I was camping in Spruce woods provincial park 2 weekends ago and fires were allowed even though the municipality had a fire ban. I asked at the office when I checked in about fires and was told the parks follow different rules than the municipality. The guy at the office did say they have different fire ban levels too. Level 2 was fires are only allowed during times of 8pm and 11pm (at night) and all other times not allowed. He mentioned if is level one they close the park. So best bet is to call the park.

"Spruce Woods Provincial Park: Due to elevated wildfire danger, campfires are prohibited at all times at backcountry campsites and wood stoves in trail shelters. Campfires are still permitted in developed areas, including Kiche Manitou Campground, Equestrian & Canoe Campgrounds and Marshs Lake Picnic Area"

It appears all other parks in Manitoba have no fire restrictions in place.
