Turkeys 9 to 15 pounds I cook in the Electric Roaster. To me it is like 1/2 oven and 1/2 crock pot. Much juicier and more tender than the oven. Mine is a GE and my Daughter's is a rival and they both work the same. " |

have really never paid that much attention to time. I once did a 6 pound turkey on low for about 10 hours. When I do one about 9 pounds, I put it in the crock pot about 9:00 am on high till about noon, and then turn the heat down to medium and eat it for supper. If it is ready before the rest of the meal, I just turn it too low.
One thing about the crock pot it that it is very forgiving. I add some water and spices are some sage, garlic powder, dill, parsley, maybe some seasoning salt.
