Not throwing no restaurant under the bus. Just merely gave my personal opinion on their food. Some like it some don't, I'm just one that doesn't like it. I think if your going to eat at what they refer to themselves as a premium burger restaurant you should get a Lil better product than a frozen burger. If you look at a place like Wendy's sure you pay a Ltitle bit more but atleast their meats are fresh. The only things frozen there are their fries and chicken products. Just my opinion though like I said some like it some don't. If you like it hey good for you enjoy.

So excited, hope all works out. Cant wait to have a hotdog from Harvey's Mmmmm its been a long time. Plus when my mom comes to visits she will be excited that we can actually go to Swish Chalet can't wait!

I hope this is true.....their chicken is to die for...... always great food when I went to the Swiss in Toronto or Edmonton......... the best food ever......i really hope we get it here. we could also use a Red Lobster ..Just saying

I do support the places here and still would like to get lobster......and no one makes the chicken like Swiss Chalet..... yes we have places already and they are always busy in case you didn't notice....I have had to walk out of places cause the waiting period is so long....and oh yes Five guys is the best place to get burgers and fries.i have never had a hot dog there . so will go there soon as my grandson loves a good hot dog and he is with me all summer and i love a good one too... thanks for letting me know that. I eat out often thanks

Really enjoyed their food in other locations and looking forward to it here!  
And as countless people await the elusive Costco, I am holding out a similar hope for Red Lobster.

Also coming, apparently also very close to signing lease, should be here before the years over. Also a free standing building on corner of parking lot right next to 18th st.

Was wondering if the lease agreements have been completed yet??

Sobeys thread touched based on why and how a gas station is planned to be built close to the new sobeys, when Swiss Chalet and Harveys is going to be built within the same area.  
 
And also, perhaps a rumor that East side marios will be built near the same pad as well?

On the map it on their website it shows at Rosser and Ninth, so could it be going where Remington's was?

It's more than a rumour... At last word both the mall and the local franchisee for Montanas (same franchisee that was working on brining Swiss Chalet/Harveys here) went as far as saying that it was in the works. It was also later reported in local media.  
 
My last info from the (would-be?) franchisee in late May was that they were still planning on a 2016 opening. Whether they've hit the kind of snag that's causing a delay or have run into a larger constraint I don't know but I've sent a note to both parties to see if there's anything new to share.

For looking in on an update. Personally I wish they would consider the 34th and Victoria Ave proposed location. Not much out that area for family restaurants.

It sounds like there's still full intent to make this happen and that they're going through the steps necessary. Generally speaking it's not an uncommon thing in Brandon for these processes to take time before shovel hits ground (remember the 1+ years for Ye's Buffet or Browns Socialhouse after it became known that they were coming before they were built and open). The franchisee is still hopeful for 2016 but this year isn't talked about as necessarily a sure bet. Will update if I learn more.

had a bad burger from Harvies best there is and for the price you can't beat swiss chalet, are they better ribs in town, sure but you will also pay more as well.  
 
so much depends on the chef and the servers.

very sad to see that it's taking forever due to reasons I cannot comment on this site.

take that long for all that snow to melt from that part of the parking lot.

Via m management of Swiss Chalet/Harveys I understand that they are aiming for first quarter of 2018 for opening.

dont know if it's me, but comparing the picturs of the restaurants and the pad site. The pad sites sure do look small..except east side marios and another thing.. did they get rid of Fionn Macools? i dont see it on the redevelopment page of shoppers mall

At some point the plan changed to ESM and Fionns having their own standalone pads (that's Fionns in the middle as per this link)...

The approx sizes for the three....  
Swiss Chalet/Harvey’s will be 5300 sqft  
Fionns 3500 sqft (a little smaller than the Grant Park one in Winnipeg which was to be 4300)  
East Side Marios 4500 (their average sounds like it's 5300)
