Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear. Yes, of course there is a "legitimate" stripper scene, but this idea of stripper comedians is something different. It's at an entertainment venue, not a bar. Strippers are still generally considered to be at a morally vague position in mainstream society (some think it's fine, others find it demeaning or even vulgar and offensive), but making it a comedy event at a mainstream entertainment venue suggests a different kind of 'social sanction'. I'm just curious if female "stripper/comedians" would be seen the same way. The first couple of responses to the male "stripper/comedy" show were pretty enthusiastic.
