The PG rated, kids movie Show Dogs is playing in Brandon.  
 
It seems like a cute/funny enough movie about a police dog & his partner infiltrating a dog show to rescue a kidnapped baby panda...  
 
BUT...  
 
There is a fairly big part of the plot that revolves around the dog being trained to be ok with being touched inappropriately. (AKA what sexual predators call 'grooming')

I have seen comments made on here in the past from someone representing the local Landmark Cinema so hopefully that someone or another employee of the theatre sees this thread and checks out the link to see just what is going on in this particular children's movie. I would be interested to hear what they have to say. I have read the link and would not want my grandchildren to see this movie; very inappropriate!

Those decisions to pull the movie would be made by the higher ups and not by the local staff. Locally I’m pretty sure their hands are tied.  
I’m not sure what you’d like to hear them say? They didn’t make the movie, they are just a vessel for showing it, because they are told to show it. Since this topic is in the national news now, appropriate changes will be made or pulled. But that’s for the ones in charge to do. Locally I’m sure they’ll pull it when told or keep playing it with those scenes edited and deleted (as I read online that was what was going to happen from producers).  
As for now, don’t go see it and don’t let your grandchildren see it.

Thanks for posting that this is in the national news now; I wasn't aware of that. I agree that locally they will very likely be unable to do anything until directed by their head office. Glad to hear it is being addressed.

The recent Peter Rabbit movie that implied that it's okay to expose someone with a food allergy to that food, as long as they're bothering you.

Just read that they're going to edit the film and re-release it without the inappropriate content.

Some people blow things way out of proportion. Has there been an increase in sexual preditoring since the movie has been released? Just like every Disney movie there is some relation to something sexual somehow someone finds. The movie is rated PG which may not be suitable for young children. I hope we don''t have dog competitions here where children attend. If we do we better make sure signage says that the venue is rated R for adults only. I better find the "Just for laughs" youtube videos I have seen where a dog is trained to stick their nose between sunbather''s legs making them jump. Would hate to see kids think it is appropriate to stick their nose in "special" places.  
 
I am curious to how many children leave the theaters thinking it is alright to be touched and find their Zen Zone or is it just adults that have issues with it. Every dog owner that their dog comes up and sniffs a person''s private area....as dogs do.....better be prepared for a complaint with animal control....lol. Good grief.

It is sad that in this day and age, that movies aren't yet screened before hand for this type of stuff and it is removed.  
 
The producer and the director shouldn't be putting this stuff in the first place for a kid's movie.  
 
Having said that there are inappropriate movies for kids that parents still allow them to go to. Just because the rating says a certain age doesn't mean its a good idea to watch it.  
 
Then the 3rd point is the kids can pull anything they want to watch online without any editing if no one is watching and even if someone is.  
 
We were all kids at one time and there were many things and rules that we got around of to do.

Reading the forum I thought, okay maybe people are just overreacting. I was planning on going to this movie Saturday with my kids. After reading the article online I am seriously disturbed. It gave me chills to think that this kind of thing is in a children’s movie, let alone any movie. Definitely don’t want to go now. I hope everyone reads this before going.
