Will Ricky Gervais ever work in Hollywood again?

RICKY Gervais has been warned “you’ll never work in this town again” after insulting the cream of Hollywood.
Furious movie superstars booed as the Brit comic mocked big names including Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr and Charlie Sheen.
Ricky Gervais was hosting the prestigious Golden Globes awards as he mercilessly poked fun at Tinseltown’s A-listers – most of whom utterly failed to see the joke.
Gervais didn’t just upset the stars, accusing the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), who organised the awards in Beverly Hills, of “taking bribes.”
At one point Gervais disappeared for over an hour amid rumours organisers of the show on America’s NBC channel had hauled him offstage to insist he tone down his humour or be sacked mid-show.
When the 49-year-old The Office star did finally return, he seemed much more subdued than when he opened the ceremony.
After the show Gervais accepted the reception had been mixed, adding: “The HFPA doesn’t want me, NBC doesn’t want me, Scientologists are out to get me. Johnny Depp is going to beat me up in the parking lot and America won’t want me any more.”
